For people of all ages, Spin Art is a colorful part of the sights and sounds of the Great Minnesota State Fair. Created by artist and photographer Sue Hartley, this sculpture gives homage to Sue’s favorite booth at the Fair, the Spin Art booth by the DNR Building. Sue, a professional photographer, is also an avid spin artist who has been spending several hours painting at the Fair every year for over 20 years. Since there was no State Fair in 2020, and being a photographer that paints with light, she decided she would create an illuminated spin art piece. This Dazzling Spin Art sculpture was created using over 2500 lights to recreate the brilliant swirling spin-art colors in exciting bursts of illumination. Enjoy!
